The Offenburg University of Applied Sciences was founded in 1964 as a state school of engineering and was supplemented in 1978 by the business location in Gengenbach. In the 1990s, as a university of applied sciences, it developed new study programmes in the field of media as well as master’s programmes with an international orientation. In the past ten years, the number of students has more than doubled. Today, around 4500 young people study in the fields of technology, business and media at the two locations in Offenburg and Gengenbach. The four faculties offer a broad, interdisciplinary and practice-oriented range of subjects: Business Administration and Industrial Engineering and Management, Electrical Engineering, Medical Technology and Information Technology, Mechanical and Process Engineering as well as Media and Information Technology.
